Meet Our Team

Christine Kinney (Patient Care Manager, Veterinary Medical Technologist)

"I have been working as a veterinary technician for 20 years, and am originally from San Diego, CA. What I like about this job is helping animals when they really need it.  I also enjoy the technical parts of this field, such as surgery, lab tests, and X-rays.  Getting the diagnosis is very rewarding to me. I have three cats and a dog, but I feel responsible for every animal in my yard! My new hobby is taking our dog, Larry, out on a boogie board, so that he can transition to stand-up paddle boarding.  He loves it.  I like relaxing at home with my family in my spare time."

George Dailey (Client Service Representative, Quality Assurance)

"I am from a small planet in the Rigel System (laughing) (i.e. Dallas, Texas).  What I enjoy most about veterinary medicine is being able to help people and their pets, to strengthen the human animal bond. I have 31 years of veterinary experience in all positions (except Dr.). I enjoy flower arranging, origami, and gardening and I collect yard gnomes (more laughter)."

Demian Dressler, DVM

demian_dressler2.jpg"We moved to Maui when I was 6 months old, from Portland, Oregon.  I grew up with many different kinds of pets and animals during my childhood: monkeys, a basset hound, a lab mix, 3 Australian Shepherds, several Persian cats, two Domestic Short Hair Cats, a pony, pheasants, doves, quail, peacocks, lovebirds, rabbits, guinea pigs, chinchillas, a pig, goats, turkeys, ducks, geese, and more. I raised them, was active in 4H, and showed them at the County Fair when I was young.  I graduated from Cornell Veterinary School in 1997.  I helped my mother start Pacific Primate Sanctuary in the '80's.  My special interests include laser surgery, new innovations in animal health, cancer, nutraceuticals, and taking information that could help animals from different fields to use in daily practice.  I invented a supplement called Apocaps which helps pets by restoring healthy cells in their bodies, and authored The Dog Cancer Survival Guide in 2008.  My mission is to provide the best for pets and their humans so we can all have better, longer lives.  I feel privileged to be a member of this wonderful profession.

Karyl Sanders (Client Service Representative)

"I grew up in Michigan and when I was 22 I had the opportunity to move to Maui. It was a great alternative to living in the snow and cold. Even after 24 years of living here, I still appreciate the beauty of the island. I love working with all the different animals and meeting their owners. When I am not at work I enjoy hiking and exploring different areas of Maui, biking, Zumba and spending time with family and friends."

Felicia Chernicky (Exam Room Nurse)

"I was born and raised in Yuba City, CA, and moved to Maui in 2006. I love animals and have always been fascinated by the relationships between people and their pets. I feel fortunate to work in a field that allows me interaction with so many furry and feathered friends. I love spending time at the beach and hiking with my friends and two dogs, Rogue and Kaipo. I am also happy to be an active member of Maui's dance and theater communities."

Lauren Cope (Exam Room Nurse)

"I grew up in Mount Shasta, California. I love veterinary medicine because of my passion for animals and because I love science (I have always been a science nerd!).  I love spending time with my daughter, going to the park and the beach, and reading."
