This is Angel Gatto, the number one contender for the worlds' cutest rat.  Angel had overgrown front teeth.  This can happen if a rat has poor nutrition early in life.  The good news is that Angel was sedated at South Shore Veterinary Care and underwent a tooth trimming procedure.  We were able to restore Angel's front teeth to a normal length.  Angel did very well and continues to be the cutest around. 

Here on Maui, rats are not very common pets. But, like cats and dogs, they have their own unique personalities.  And these personalities more than make up for their small size!  They are all different.  They also have unique health care concerns and require special knowledge from the veterinarian.  

We feel that each pet is special, and treat Angel and other members of his kind as important family members. We love Angel!
